Amaury Pérez responds to criticism over his travels: "Can we only go to North Korea?"

The singer-songwriter has visited numerous countries. Traveling is one of the leisure activities he enjoys the most, even though it is not something that most Cubans can afford.

The Cuban singer, songwriter, and presenter Amaury Pérez Vidal responded to alleged criticisms regarding his international travels with a message full of sarcasm on social media.

"Here we are in North Korea, according to some forum users, it's one of the few places where we can, and must, travel as Cubans who have decided to remain in Cuba at all costs. Here we sing in military units, communist rice factories, and even in a Special Uranium Enrichment Center," said Amaury.

He accompanied his post with a photo alongside his wife, in a winter landscape, and added: "The clothing, because it's very cold, was rented to us by the Consolidated Communist Weaving Company Kim Son Il and we had to return it to the party. Since we have never worked, we survive from state subsidy to state subsidy and for that reason we did not have a cent, the trip was funded by the noble Union of Cultural Communist Workers."

His post was a "joke" of twisted political humor. The artist himself apologized to his followers and claimed that the current situation in Cuba led him to start this unique prank.

"We have never been, nor will we be in North Korea, but according to some, that's where we should travel. It's crazy. (...) Forgive the joke. These days, laughter is the perfect antidote against the ills of the soul," he explained.

In a previous post, Amaury announced his likely disappearance from social media due to the general blackout affecting Cuba and asked his fans to dedicate their prayers to the island.

"Friends: If I don't reach out in these days, you know why. We will survive this blackout that affects the entire country. Pray for Cuba. May God be with us," he said.

His return to social media was filled with sarcasm, although those messages where supposedly the forum users send him to travel to North Korea are not found in his posts.

Amaury recounts another of his trips.

"We hope that this time no one takes offense because we went where we belong, so everyone is happy. Have an excellent and Asian Tuesday," said the singer-songwriter.

Their wall is filled with messages of peace and love. Apparently, no one disagrees on their networks; people find the communist dynamic amusing and dream from Havana of visiting Pyongyang.
