A few days ago, Disney decided to raise the prices of annual passes for its theme parks in Florida, similar to what it had already done in California. These increases range from $30 to $100, affecting all those who wish to visit its parks.
With the intention of building a new park in the state and considering the inflation of the past year, which has reduced the purchasing power of American citizens, the famous entertainment company chose to adjust its ticket prices. Founded by Walt Disney, the huge conglomerate seeks to adapt to the current economic context with these increases.
The new prices for annual passes to access Disney parks in Florida are as follows:
The increase in the prices of annual passes to Disney in Florida ranges from $30 to $100 depending on the type of passes.
Disney Incredi-Pass: The most expensive pass with no date restrictions, increased from $1,449 to $1,549.
Disney Sorcerer Pass: Available for Florida residents and some members of the Disney Vacation Club, increased from $999 to $1,079.
Pirate Pass: Only for Florida residents, increased from US$799 to US$829.
Pixie Dust Pass: Allows entry from Monday to Friday with certain restrictions and now costs US$469, an increase of US$30 from the previous price of US$439.
This shows that the increases are in a range of 2% to 10%, depending on the pass. The mentioned passes include parking, discounts, and the possibility of moving between parks, although if visitors wish to enter before 2 P.M., they must make a reservation in advance.
Last Wednesday, October 9, Disney announced price increases for annual passes to its parks in California, along with the launch of a new ticket that allows access to certain attractions without waiting in line.
Regarding the Magic Key passes, which allow entry throughout the year, the Inspire Key increased from US$1,649 to US$1,749, representing a monthly payment increase of US$8.34, available to California residents. Meanwhile, the Believe Key increased its price from US$1,249 to US$1,374.
In December 2022, an article revealed that there are people willing to go into debt to visit Disney, highlighting the irresistible appeal of the park despite the high costs. This trend has been reinforced by the exclusive offers and the constant demand for personalized experiences that Disney provides to its visitors.
In 2024, Disney continued to raise its prices, as mentioned in a February article that detailed how getting married in the park has become nearly impossible due to high costs. By October of the same year, Disneyland further increased prices on high-demand days, demonstrating an aggressive market segmentation strategy. Additionally, in October, Disney launched a $400 exclusive pass that allows visitors to skip long lines, according to another recent article that outlines how this new option aims to enhance the experience for customers more willing to pay.
