Cuban in Mexico explains why he considers himself a millionaire, and his video goes viral

"I'm a millionaire Cuban in Mexico": YouTuber reflects on TikTok, and his video has already surpassed 700,000 views in a day.

Michel Crónicas, a Cuban YouTuber living in Mexico, has shared his father's reactions to everything he can access in the country that was unavailable on the island. He has gone viral on TikTok with a video in which he describes himself as a "millionaire" for the basic things within his reach.

In just one day, the video has garnered over 774,000 views, accumulating more than 76,000 likes and thousands of comments that continue to discuss its message.

"I am a millionaire Cuban living in Mexico," says @michelcronicas as he begins his video, immediately listing everything he has: 24-hour electricity, hot and purified water, yogurt, bread with butter, fresh fruits, and his beloved cup of coffee with milk. The most valuable thing, in his view, is his freedom. "The most important thing I have in Mexico is my freedom, and I know that if I put in the effort, I can achieve each of my goals," he states.

Michel's message goes straight to the situation in Cuba, a country where such comforts are almost unimaginable. "Things in Cuba have to change; Cubans need freedom to pursue each of their dreams," he added, delivering a powerful statement about the reality of his homeland.

The post is drawing a lot of attention, with many commenters celebrating his attitude and gratitude towards the country that has welcomed him, while others expressed concern about the country's possible future. “Enjoy it while you can, because Mexico is on its way to becoming like Cuba,” wrote a worried user. Meanwhile, more optimistic voices stated, “Six years ago, they said we would become like Cuba or Venezuela, but we are stronger than ever.”

Political comparisons were abundant, and users expressed divided opinions between those who believe Mexico is on the right path and those who fear the country may follow Cuba's example. "Mexico is heading in that direction; it's only a matter of time," read one comment, while others took a more humorous approach: "We'll chip in to help you leave for the USA or Spain."

Such reflections from those born in the largest of the Antilles are not uncommon online. A few days ago, Cuban YouTuber Anita Mateu (@anita.mateu), who has been living in Galicia for two years, shared a similar account in which she described how she feels "rich" due to having access to basic necessities that are considered a luxury in Cuba.

Michel's video has sparked an ongoing debate, and with thousands of comments, it's evident that his reflection has resonated deeply with both Cubans and Mexicans.
