This is how the tribute to El Taiger took place at Fiesta Latina in Miami.

With images of El Taiger projected on large screens on stage, friends and loved ones performed the artist's songs, honoring the legacy he left in the urban music scene of the Island.

The tribute to El Taiger was one of the most emotional moments of the Fiesta Latina 2024 event, held on Saturday night at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

On stage were Cuban musician Descemer Bueno, DJ Conds, producer The Yabo, urban singer and songwriter El Yonki, along with other musicians, producers, and friends of the recently deceased Cuban reggaeton artist.

The Fiesta Latina is an event that celebrates and honors the artists who have made an international impact in that genre.

The last-minute inclusion of the tribute to José Manuel Carbajal Zaldívar (El Taiger) aimed to honor the musician's contributions to the urban genre.

In the words of Enrique Santos, following the tragic death of El Taiger on October 10, they deemed it fitting to create a space to honor the memory of someone who was "one of the great pioneers of Cuban urban music."

Santos, a prominent presenter and key figure in the Latino community in the United States, was the host of Fiesta Latina and recently addressed the criticism that arose following the announcement of a tribute to the late Cuban reggaeton artist.

"With the generous support of Dj Conds, the musicians of El Taiger, their producers, and friends—those who worked closely with him until his final days—we will hold a tribute this Saturday at the Kaseya Center for Fiesta Latina 2024 to remember the best moments of his musical career," the presenter explained.

He also emphasized that creating a space to pay tribute "has not been easy, but it was the right thing to do." Additionally, the communicator denied rumors about alleged payments to the musicians involved in the tribute, stating that "none of the musicians invited for this Saturday have been paid a single peso; we are not paying any musicians, nor the producers, nor DJ Conds."
