Damián Valdez-Galloso arrested in New York as a person of interest in the El Taiger case

The police are expected to provide details of their arrest in the coming hours.


Damián Valdez-Galloso, the person of interest in the El Taiger case, was arrested this Friday in New York.

According to information provided by journalist Daniel Benítez on his YouTube channel, just a few days before the one-month anniversary of the homicide of Cuban reggaeton artist Damián Valdez-Galloso, he is now in police custody in that city.

Authorities are expected to provide details of his arrest in the coming hours, as it is only known that he is the individual Miami police were seeking to clarify the circumstances surrounding this homicide.

"At this moment, my sources are not explaining to me or providing details on what charges he might be detained under (...) This is very important within the investigation because it is clear that the authorities believe, without a doubt, that he is the person who can provide all the details and help resolve the case of El Taiger (...) At this moment, he is not being accused of murder; he is a person of interest," Benítez emphasized.

Damián Valdéz-Galloso, born on December 5, 1974, and residing in Hialeah, Miami, is a convicted sex offender who was required to check in regularly with the police, a requirement he had failed to comply with, the journalist clarifies.
