Cuban woman struggles to pack for her trip to Cuba: "It's a hardship."

A Cuban on TikTok showcases the challenge of packing for Cuba, including fans and basic necessities for family members.

A Cuban woman demonstrated on TikTok the complicated task of helping her mother pack suitcases for her trip to Cuba. The scene, which reflects the logistical challenges faced by many Cubans traveling to the island, has captured attention on social media and generated empathy among those who are familiar with the difficulties of bringing items in luggage that may be useful there.

"The struggle that Cubans face when they travel to Cuba. In this case, it's my mom; I'm helping her pack. Look at this, it's a real ordeal. I'm transferring everything from one suitcase to another. We put the teas in bags because boxes weigh more. Fans, rugs, everything. It's better to ask what she’s not bringing," commented the user, who identifies as @claujosedavid on TikTok, as she reorganized and adjusted the items her mother was taking with her.

Among the tricks she shares is removing items from their boxes, such as teas, to put them in bags, making them weigh less. Among other items in her suitcase are fans and various articles aimed at meeting basic needs in Cuba, where the scarcity of products and high prices limit access to many essential goods.

"The reality of a trip to Cuba. Thank God everything is fine, but you leave with a pound less in each suitcase," commented the user @claujosedavid at the end of the video.

"Similarly, how difficult it is when you have to leave things behind because you bought too much; it hurts to let them go," "That's how I am. Playing with the suitcases, putting things in and taking them out again," or "My daughter went in September and had to bring everything, including mosquito repellent," are some of the comments that this Cuban woman received.
