Orlando Fundichely after voting in the U.S.: "The privilege of living in a non-communist country"

The popular Cuban artist exercised his right to vote in the United States and took the opportunity to criticize "the coup plotters" who have taken Cuba hostage, for not allowing the Island to have free elections.

Cuban actor Orlando Fundichely exercised his right to early voting this Sunday in the United States elections, where this Super Tuesday will determine whether the fate of the world's most powerful nation will be Republican or Democratic for the next four years. In other words, whether the next president will be Donald Trump or Kamala Harris.

The artist did not want to overlook this important moment and shared his participation in the elections on his Instagram profile, highlighting the significance for Cubans to cast their votes in a free election, thanks to the "privilege of living in a non-communist country."

The popular actor recalled, after voting, the 64 years that the "coup leaders have held" his country hostage. To clarify which side he stands on, Fundichely expressed his support for Javier Milei: "Long live freedom, damn it!" he wrote.

Among the many comments the post received, there are some that, with only twenty-four hours left until the decisive moment, express doubts about the impartiality of the U.S. electoral system. There were also responses from Argentina regarding the reference to Milei: "It's interesting that you mention Milei, who since taking office has generated more poverty here in Argentina... Expensive food and services, increased insecurity, salaries that are insufficient; the same goes for pensions... The adjustment has ultimately been paid for by the working people. In summary, we're worse off than Haiti, according to the numbers, but luckily we're not governed by a communist," wrote an internet user identifying themselves as Aymé Mariñas.

There were also those who applauded the artist. "I agree even if I’m on this side... That's right, free to choose and free to live! Infinite blessings!" wrote Loli María Pulido López.

The early voting centers in Miami-Dade closed this Sunday after an intense day in which over half of the voters had already cast their ballots, setting a record participation level not seen before.

A total of 539,512 people voted early in the county, of which 41.9% are Republicans, 29% Democrats, and 26.9% independents, according to official figures.

This November 3rd - the last day of early voting - was particularly busy at the polls, with wait times exceeding 40 minutes. It was on this Sunday that Fundichely, remembered in Cuba for his role as Suchel in the series "Su propia guerra," went to cast his vote.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump, the current Republican candidate, would receive support from 68% of Cuban-American voters in Miami-Dade, marking "a historic high," according to a survey by Florida International University (FIU). If these figures are confirmed, we would once again witness a new record of support for Trump.
