The Republican presidential candidate and former President of the United States, Donald Trump, voted this Tuesday in Palm Beach, Florida, accompanied by his wife, Melania Trump.
The former president cast his vote at the Mandel Recreation Center in Palm Beach this morning, after the polls opened at 7:00 a.m. local Florida time.
"We ran a great campaign. I believe this was perhaps the best of the three. We did very well in the first, even better in the second, but then something happened. I would say this is the best campaign we've ever had," Trump stated to the media at the polling center near his residence in the Mar-a-Lago complex.
"I feel very confident," he added.
"I have heard that we are doing very well everywhere," he stated.
He also expressed concerns about how lengthy the vote counting process would be due to the use of machines, comparing it to the speed of the French elections.
In his speech, Trump criticized the delay in the vote counting again and mentioned that "they spent all this money on machines."
The Republican vice presidential candidate, J.D. Vance, also voted in person at his polling station in Cincinnati.
The senator arrived at the Church of San Antonio de Padua accompanied by his wife, Usha, and their children, displaying a positive demeanor.
After voting for the Trump-Vance ticket, he stated to reporters, “I am grateful to everyone who participates in this great tradition of American democracy. I feel good about this race.”
The vote of Kamala Harris
Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate, commented on Sunday that she had voted by mail and expressed confidence that her ballot would reach California, where she is registered.
"My ballot is on its way to California, and I am going to trust the system," she stated from Detroit, a key state in this election.
"The systems implemented for this election are secure. They are good systems, and the people's votes will determine the outcome," stated Harris, who reaffirmed the integrity of the electoral system.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump, during a rally in Lititz, Pennsylvania, one of the key states, once again criticized the American voting system, noting that in some places it is not necessary to show identification before voting and lamenting the slow pace of the counting process.
“The world is laughing at our electoral system,” Trump stated, fueling doubts about the legitimacy of the results, as he did in 2020 when he questioned mail-in voting.
As of Saturday, more than 75 million people had already voted in the United States elections, representing over 48% of the total votes cast in the 2020 presidential election, which saw the participation of 154.6 million Americans.
