The low-cost airline Volaris has expanded its services between Central America and the United States with a new direct connection between Miami and San Salvador.

Since November, four weekly flights have been operating between the two cities, enhancing the availability of air travel at affordable prices between South Florida and the Salvadoran capital.

Miami International Airport, one of the key connection hubs with Latin America, highlights the importance of this new route, which will meet the growing demand of Salvadoran and Central American travelers to the United States.

The Mayor of Miami-Dade, Daniella Levine Cava, noted that an average of 250,000 passengers travel each year between El Salvador and Miami-Dade, a number that could increase with Volaris's expansion in the market.

This new Volaris connection, operated on an Airbus A320 with a capacity for 174 passengers, joins its existing routes to New York, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, Oakland, and Houston from San Salvador.

The airline began its flights to Miami in December 2022, following a route through San Pedro Sula, and now reinforces its commitment to provide low-cost alternatives for those traveling to reunite with family or to enjoy tourism and business in the U.S.

Ronny Rodríguez, Director of Sustainability and Corporate Development at Volaris, emphasized that this expansion is a response to the airline's interest in meeting the growing demand for travel from Central America to the United States.

Volaris also connects San Salvador with destinations in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico, facilitating the travel of over 1.2 million passengers in the past three years.

With this new route, Volaris strengthens its presence in Miami, a key destination for travelers seeking economical and convenient flight options between Latin America and the United States.
