And what happens now with the Senate and the House of Representatives?

Republicans have regained control of the United States Senate, according to projections from CNN and other outlets, a significant victory following four years of Democratic dominance.

This achievement gives them a significant advantage in Washington, as they will play a key role in the confirmation of the next president's cabinet members, as well as any Supreme Court judge should a vacancy arise.

Republican control in the Senate could also profoundly influence the direction of domestic policies and international relations in the United States.

On the other hand, the House of Representatives still does not have a clear winner, with over 100 seats contested, and in several states, such as California, the counting is progressing slowly, according to AP.

Democrats are placing their hopes on retaining the House of Representatives, as it could serve as a barrier to halt Donald Trump's agenda, who is projected to be the virtual winner of the presidency.

If the Republicans manage to secure the House of Representatives, they would have total control of Congress, which would facilitate the implementation of their political agenda, including the extension of tax cuts from the Trump era and the approval of stringent measures on immigration and border security issues.

In the Senate races, Republicans have secured key seats in conservative states like West Virginia and Ohio, solidifying their position.

The Democrats managed to retain an important seat in Wisconsin, where incumbent Tammy Baldwin defeated Republican Eric Hovde thanks to a vote update in Milwaukee County, which significantly favored the Democrats.

However, the races in Arizona, Michigan, and Nevada remain open and could be decisive for the balance of power in Congress.

Republican leadership in the Senate will need to establish a new structure, as the current minority leader, Mitch McConnell, previously announced his intention to step down from the position.

This opens the door to renewed leadership that supports Trump's policies if his presidency is officially confirmed.

The final results of the House of Representatives are expected to take several more days, leaving the total control of Congress in suspense and the possibility of a fully supported presidency for Trump.
