A Cuban resident in the United States shared a funny story on TikTok about a curious misunderstanding she had with an American worker at a gas station.

In the video posted on her account @oriannis.cm, the young woman shares that while she was at the gas station, she accidentally hit her foot, which prompted her to react with a spontaneous "Cuban curse word," quite common in the island's popular slang.

The situation became awkward when the gas station attendant, taken aback by the expression, asked if that word was a typical greeting from her country. With humor and quick wit, the Cuban decided to go along with it and answered affirmatively, claiming that in Cuba it is used as a "friendly greeting."

The story has sparked laughter and comments on social media, especially among Cubans, who immediately grasp the confusion and celebrate the young woman's cleverness in navigating a situation that, in other contexts, could have led to bewilderment.

The post has garnered thousands of views and reactions, highlighting the connection many migrants feel with these anecdotes filled with humor and wit.

This video not only highlights a segment of the everyday life of Cubans living abroad but also emphasizes the cultural differences that can arise when transporting the language and humor from one country to another.

The creativity and spontaneity of the Cuban woman not only helped her out of a tight spot but have also won the admiration of many online.
