A Cuban in the United States, @dianeyiskale, has shared on TikTok what a day working at Burlington in California is like, and her followers are hooked. In the video, Dianeis showcases everything from the moment she arrives at the store at 8 in the morning until she leaves, documenting each task during her nearly five-hour shift.
Her first task of the day was to organize a "rack on the floor," placing products in their correct positions and sorting them by color. She also worked in the home goods area and later received training in the clothing section, where she had to organize the items according to labels, sizes, prices, and security alarms. The day is not easy: she only gets a 15-minute break, and she ends her shift being checked by the security guard. “Bye bye, I’m off to Walmart,” she concludes the video cheerfully, despite her fatigue.
The video has generated many reactions, especially from other users who also work at Burlington or similar stores. One follower commented that they have been at Burlington for a year, to which Dianeis replied, “Do you like it? I don’t.” Another user inquired about the salary, and Dianeis explained that it “depends on the state, the store, the city, and the position.”
Some were surprised that she was allowed to record at work, to which she replied that in California, no one had given her any issues. Another user, who works in Burlington, Florida, commented, "It's strange that they let you record," and she joked in response, "Maybe it's because I live in California; here, everything is allowed." One follower warned her not to show the door code, to which Dianeis responded, thanking her for the advice.
Others also asked her for advice on applying to Burlington, and she explained that “it’s only online,” promising to make a video explaining the process since she has received many questions about it. Some users related to the challenges of the job. “I’m going to start in the tagging section, but I thought they offered more hours,” a girl commented, and Dianeis replied that this company is usually ideal for part-time work, as “they don’t provide 40-hour weeks.”
Diane also mentioned that working in two stores is exhausting for her. "Every time I have to work the same day in both stores, I end up in a coma," she confessed, reflecting the effort involved in long hours of physical labor. Another user, who has also worked at Burlington, encouraged her and shared her positive experience: "That was my first job in this country. I love Burlington."
