Following the earthquake that occurred this Sunday at around 10:50 a.m., several users on social media have reported feeling a second tremor in various locations in eastern Cuba.
The Facebook profile of TV Santiago reported that the second earthquake reached a magnitude of 6.8, surpassing the first, which was 6.0.
Aris Arias Batalla, head of the Red Cross in Santiago de Cuba, reported on Facebook about a second seismic event.
In a second post, Arias stated that so far there were no reports of damage or injuries.
Activist Bricella Hernández also reported on her social media about a second noticeable earthquake in the province of Santiago de Cuba.
The young filmmaker Daniel Ross from Guantánamo stated on his social media that the second earthquake was noticeably felt in that region of the east.
"It shook again, stronger than 6.8," Ross noted.
For his part, journalist Anolvis Cuscó reported on Facebook that another tremor occurred in Santiago de Cuba at 11:51 a.m.: "It just shook very hard in the eastern region of Cuba."
"Hundreds of thousands of people are leaving their homes to take to the streets of Santiago de Cuba," he noted.
