Cuban woman in Palm Beach defends her cleaning method: "It's true that water is wasted, but I pay for it."

A Cuban woman in Palm Beach has gone viral on TikTok for her traditional Cuban cleaning method using buckets of water. She defends her technique, stating that she pays for the water she uses herself.

For a Cuban, nothing beats cleaning by throwing buckets of water on the floor, a method widely practiced on the island and a custom many have carried with them when they emigrated. This is the case of a Cuban woman in Palm Beach, Florida, who has gone viral on TikTok for defending this unique cleaning method.

"If you don't clean like this, you don't know how to clean," asserts the Cuban woman who identifies herself as @aniadys_aaa in the video where she details her routine. "You have to throw buckets of water, you have to take the furniture and hose it down," she emphasizes.

With notable pride, he emphasizes that the cost of water is on him: “Yes, it's true that water gets wasted, but I pay for the water.” His cleaning routine includes "water at the door, on the moldings, on the cushions, and everywhere," and he warns that anyone who doesn't follow these practices could be keeping a "tremendous mess" in their home.

The Palm Beach resident does not limit herself to just the visible surfaces; she also makes sure to clean areas like the parking lot and the laundry room, as she explains, “they get dirty.”

"If after cleaning you don't feel like sitting down for a coffee, it means you didn't clean properly," he concludes, showcasing the immaculate condition of his patio.

The video has sparked numerous reactions among users, who have responded with various comments: "I live in the USA and my house would fall apart if I poured that water," one commenter stated. Another user joked, "If you live in a house, fine, but in an apartment it's a no-go; the first and last time I did it, my downstairs neighbor almost bit me, hahaha." There were also those who felt a connection with the Cuban lady: "I needed this video. My therapist was about to diagnose me with OCD, no mom, I’m Cuban, and that's how I was raised."

Some users expressed nostalgia: "How I miss cleaning this way; in these apartments, it's impossible to do so." Others, on the other hand, highlighted the difficulty of maintaining this practice in the United States: "It's no secret that in the US you can't just throw water in any type of house; even the dog knows that," or "It's not about the price of water; it's about saving."
