Thalia is going through a difficult time following the death of her sister, Ernestina Sodi, who passed away at the age of 64 on Friday, November 8th. The journalist had been hospitalized in Mexico for a month after suffering two heart attacks that resulted in an aortic rupture.

Her daughter, Camila, shared the sad news on her social media, posting a heartfelt message: "Ernestina Sodi. My mom. Grandmother of my babies. November 8, 2024. Rest in peace."

Shortly after, Thalía shared some heartfelt words for her sister on her Instagram account. In a touching message, the performer described Ernestina as "the sun, the sea, the breeze, love, joy, resilience, kindness, and life itself." In her farewell, Thalía stated, “Not only my sister in this life, but also my sister in Christ. A double blessing. God allowed us to say goodbye, all of us who love you, in these days when, like the warrior you are, you fought until the last second to be here, to gift us with your smile, to look into our eyes, and to share tears together as the family we are.”

The renowned Mexican artist continued her message, saying: “Titi, I know you are reuniting with mom and dad and with friends who went ahead of us, but above all, you are now in the presence of our beloved God. I know you are freer and happier than ever, more joyful and content in the presence of the eternal.”

Despite her spiritual calm, the singer confessed the deep pain that this loss brings her: "I am going to miss your hugs, your little hands full of affection, your blue eyes filled with stars, your hair like gold, your beautiful conversations, and your entire human presence. I didn't realize my heart could break a little more, giving me a new, utterly indescribable pain. The pain of losing a brother."

To conclude, Thalía thanked Ernestina for her generosity and the moments they shared, bidding her farewell with love: “Thank you, my beloved. Thank you for being so generous in every sense in this life. I love you so much, beautiful. So much and always. You, my boat free in the wind.” As a closing, she included the poem "The Boat" along with a series of photographs capturing cherished memories of the two, thus immortalizing the special moments they experienced together.
