A young Cuban, known on TikTok as @laflaki1304, used her account to respond to the criticism she has received after participating in the auditions for the contest Nuestra Belleza Latina.
Through a video that quickly went viral, the young woman expressed her feelings after facing negative remarks about her appearance and her decision to participate in the competition.
"Stop with the negative comments and things. I went to the auditions because I wanted to, because it was my lifelong dream," she stated determinedly in the video.
The young woman explained that, although she was aware that she did not meet traditional beauty standards, she decided to pursue her dream: "I knew I couldn't, because I'm not perfect, I'm not that natural beauty that everyone wants you to be, but I decided to go for it."
Additionally, she called on those who criticize her to cease their derogatory comments: “If I had the courage to do it, regardless of your criticism, why do you have to keep hounding me? Leave me alone.”
In the video, she also mentioned that she was not accepted into the competition: “They didn’t give me the chance to even enter,” she said with evident sadness.
The young woman's message has sparked a wave of reactions on social media, ranging from expressions of support to further criticism, fueling the debate on beauty standards and the importance of pursuing dreams regardless of external opinions.
