The radial system of Villa Clara and its audience are mourning this Wednesday the death of Hanny Gómez Méndez, one of the most beloved and respected voices in official radio in the province.
The broadcaster, who dedicated her life to communication, passed away after "a battle with an illness," stated her colleague Jorge Nilo Coello Machado.
Hanny Gómez worked in various radio stations, particularly at CMHW, where his voice became a benchmark for listeners.
Her participation in the historic morning show "Patria," among other programs, solidified her reputation as a recognized figure in the official radio scene of Villa Clara.
The Estereocentro station, also part of her professional legacy, expressed its sorrow at Hanny's passing. Throughout her career, she worked at Radio Sagua, Sagua Televisión, and CMHW. In a message of condolence, the Estereocentro team remembered her tireless dedication and her closeness to the audience.
"Farewell, Hanny. Your voice will remain in the memory and affection of all those who heard you," was expressed on social media.
Coello Machado also dedicated an emotional post in which he stated, "you lost this war; I believe it’s the only one I’ve seen you lose, and it’s a shame it’s the last. Behind you are your days in the classroom, always providing the right answers, your fight for everything and winning it all, your professional performance as an eminent broadcaster on the radio and television of your Sagua la Grande and Santa Clara, and there remains a profound sadness at your departure into eternity," he expressed.
