A second Venezuelan vessel, carrying a donation of 200 tons of supplies, departed for Santiago de Cuba this Thursday from La Guaira.
The ship is loaded with construction materials, food, and essential products to help the population in eastern Cuba cope with the damage caused by the recent hurricanes and earthquakes that have struck the island.
The Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Yván Gil, highlighted the contribution of Venezuelan private companies in this shipment, aimed at assisting affected communities.
For his part, the Cuban ambassador in Caracas, Dagoberto Rodríguez, emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two countries, describing it as an example of solidarity in challenging times.
The current hurricane season has left a trail of disruptions in Cuba, exacerbated by the direct impact of two hurricanes: Rafael, a Category 3, and Óscar, which struck the eastern region in October.
Cuba has received international support in various forms, including contributions from the United Nations, the European Union, and governments such as those of Russia and Spain.
The shipments of donations from Venezuela represent a continuation of the economic ties between both nations.
The first donation left La Guaira in the first week of November, carrying 300 tons of supplies to Cuba, under the instructions of Nicolás Maduro.
