Relatives of the elderly Cuban Rafael Osorio García, a resident of the Development Zone in the municipality of Güines, Mayabeque, are seeking help to locate him after he has been missing from home for several days.
The report was filed with the Revolutionary National Police (PNR), but so far there have been no updates on their whereabouts.
His niece, Tamara Montoya, turned to social media to expand the search and seek support from the public.
“My uncle, Rafael Osorio García, has been away from home for several days. He lives in the Development Zone. Please, if anyone has any information, call 5622529,” Montoya wrote in his post.
The woman left the phone number 56225291 for any information that could help locate Rafael Osorio.
It is unknown when he disappeared, the clothing he was wearing when he was last seen, and the health condition of Osorio García.
Reports of disappearances have increased in Cuba in the current context of rising violence, crime, a migration crisis that has left dozens of elderly people alone on the island, and a shortage of medication for patients with mental illnesses.
