A little over two years ago, the Cuban Dariel López Ramos arrived in the United States. At the border, he was given a Form I-220A, and after being released, he began to carve out his path in a completely new country for him, a place full of challenges but also opportunities.
"I am an I-220A. When I arrived, I had three or four jobs every day until one day I was able to buy myself a little car. In Cuba, I never had a car, so I was always excited to keep it nice and clean," said Dariel in an interview with the TikTok profile Genomultiservice (@genomultiservice).
"I bought a machine to clean seats, and then I came up with the idea of starting a mobile car wash," that's how her project emerged, but she needed resources.
Little by little, he managed to save enough to acquire his own tools, and since he couldn’t afford to pay rent for a shop, he equipped a van to offer mobile car cleaning services in Tampa.
Five months ago, Dariel took another step in his journey as an entrepreneur and opened his second car wash business in Tampa. "In addition to washing cars, we now offer repair and general mechanics services," he commented proudly.
"They thought I was a failure and that I wouldn’t succeed in this country, but thank God, little by little, I have silenced all those people who closed doors on me. I am grateful for what I am achieving," he expressed.
Dariel was a farmer in Cuba, a tough job that prepared him to face any challenge. He confessed that there is a very important person in his life who inspires him.
"My mother has inspired me to work. She has been everything to me since I can remember. She is the one who taught me to fight and to keep moving forward. She is still in Cuba."
