Yonatan García Peñas, a boy who had been reported missing since Saturday night in the Mantilla neighborhood of the Arroyo Naranjo municipality in Havana, has been found.

This was made clear in a post by activist Marta María Ramírez, who indicated that the child's stepfather had "closed" the #AlertaMayde, and expressed gratitude to everyone who assisted in the search for the child.

As is usual in these cases, no additional details were provided about the location or the circumstances in which the child was found.

“I demand that the Ministry of the Interior of Cuba take the necessary actions to prevent the disappearance of this Cuban child,” wrote the activist.

Previously, when reporting the disappearance, Marta María Ramírez stated that this was not the first time a similar situation had occurred.

"We demand that the authorities not only search for and locate Yonatan but also provide support for him and his family. This is not the first time this has happened, according to his stepfather, Adenis Cabrales, who is making this public alert," Ramírez reported.

García Peñas was last seen at his home located on Carretera Managua, between Delgado and Libertad.

The report of his disappearance was filed at the headquarters of the Revolutionary National Police (PNR) in Capri, in the municipality of Arroyo Naranjo, shortly before midnight on December 21.

As of the time this note was written, there are no further details about the case.

In recent years—coinciding with the increase in violence in Cuba—reports of missing persons have become common, raising concerns among families. Lacking an official channel to bring these cases to light, they desperately turn to social media and independent media outlets for help in locating their loved ones.
