Around 230 millimeters of rain fell during the early hours of this Thursday in the municipality of Manatí, Las Tunas, causing severe flooding in areas such as Manga Larga, La División, Bienvenido Manatí, and La Rotonda.
The station Radio Manatí reported the incident via its Facebook page, highlighting that local authorities are already working on assessing the damage and looking for solutions in response to this emergency.

Additionally, it was noted that access over the Venero bridge has been disrupted because of the strong current of the Corpa stream, leaving the community of Santa Cristina cut off.
Serious damage has also been reported in the Minas area, located at the entrance of the municipality, where the rains during the night and early morning have caused significant harm. Authorities are continuing to assess the impact in these areas while working to restore connectivity and assist those affected.
Regarding the current weather situation affecting Cuba, specialist Raydel Ruisánchez noted on Facebook this Thursday that the rains will continue.
"We have a very humid atmosphere today," he emphasized. "Satellite images show abundant cloud cover over the entire Cuban territory, and rain is already occurring along the northern coast of the eastern region."
Additionally, he pointed out that "there will be a high probability of rain in much of the Cuban territory, especially in the central region."
Finally, he explained that this situation is due to the "high moisture content in the various layers of the troposphere."
Last November, the municipality of Moa in the province of Holguín experienced flooding due to heavy rainfall, which even required the evacuation of residents in the Ecrin neighborhood.
The heavy rainfall, which started around 5:00 p.m. on Monday, caused the Cabaña and Moa rivers to overflow, as reported on social media by journalist Yulieska Hernández García.
