The explosion of a storage tank at the asphalt plant on the outskirts of the city on Tuesday night left shocking images of the charred facility.

The accident left Alexey Díaz Salas, a 48-year-old worker, in critical condition after suffering burns from the explosion while performing candlestick operations at the time of the incident. The tank in question stored rc-0 liquid, a necessary component for asphalt production that must be maintained at high temperatures for its application on roads.
