A person close to those affected expressed to CiberCuba: “The police haven't done anything. Just two months ago, she lost her brother to cancer, and the parents are on the brink of collapse. They are a family with very few resources and don’t even have a phone to call for help.”

The case has shocked the local community, which has united on social media to demand a more active search, as reflected in Aliannis Díaz Licea's call on Facebook.

This Wednesday, the Cuban elderly woman Felicia Gómez Díaz, from Trinidad, will have been missing for 20 days, and her family continues to search for her.

Felicia, 67 years old, is a wife, mother, and grandmother who set out on December 5th at 8:00 AM to find her cows; since then, no one has heard from her. She has lived for 40 years on a small family farm in the village of La Ermita, along the road that runs from Trinidad to Sancti Spíritus.

At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a green coat, leggings, rubber boots, and a blue cap from the Sancti Spiritus baseball team. An hour after she left, her husband noticed she was missing and began to search for her. Soon, other relatives and neighbors from the area joined in the search.

The woman, mother of two daughters (Yaneisy and Yudisleisy Gómez Gómez), is diabetic, but she had breakfast that morning. It is ruled out that she was a victim of a robbery because the cows returned on their own. "The cows always go to the same place and come back by themselves," a relative clarified to CiberCuba.

The family urgently appeals to anyone or any institution that can assist in finding the young man and alleviating the uncertainty that is consuming them.
