Following the tragic traffic accident that occurred on Thursday morning on the road connecting Camagüey with Santa Cruz del Sur, when a passenger bus overturned on the bridge known as El Francés, the Cuban state media took the opportunity to thank the citizens for their solidarity with those affected.

The official broadcaster Radio Santa Cruz expressed its gratitude to the local residents for their solidarity shown following the unfortunate event.

On their Facebook page, they highlighted the support provided in transporting the injured, complementing the work of the seven ambulances deployed with eight light state vehicles and one private vehicle.

Additionally, two buses transported the family members to Camagüey, as confirmed by the station's director, Yunior Hierrezuelo Martínez.

The accident, which occurred when the driver of the private truck, Alberto Cruz Díaz, lost control of the vehicle at kilometer 71 of the road, has sparked a wave of solidarity in the community, highlighting the ability of citizens to come together and provide support in emergency situations.

The injured were taken to the José Espiridón Santiesteban Báez municipal hospital in Santa Cruz del Sur, and twenty of the wounded, due to the severity of their condition, were referred to hospitals in the provincial capital.
