Nelson Gudín is a Cuban actor, screenwriter, narrator, poet, and recognized humorist. He was born on August 18, 1966, in Pilón, Granma, Cuba. He has acknowledged that many of his stories were inspired by his childhood in this Cuban locality.

His characters El Bacán de la vida and Flor de Anís have given him great fame and popularity on the island.

Before jumping into television, Gudín already had a prolific career as a screenwriter, playwright, and writer. He worked as a screenwriter and actor from 1988 to 1995 in the Galich theater group and in the humorous group Club de Rueda, was a founder of the literary group SUR in Pilón in 1989, and served as president of the Hermanos Saíz Association of Pilón from 1988 to 1992.

He has written poetry for children, for which he was awarded at the National Meeting of Literary Workshops in 1992. He also won the 20th of October Narrative Prize in 1999 and holds the National Humor Narrative Prize "Aquelarre" from 1998 and 2008.

He has published the books La Ciudad y el loco (poetry), Editorial Extramuros, 2010, El país de los Pultos (novel), Editorial SanLope, 2010, El mundo de los ojos 2011, Ediciones Bayamo (poetry), and is included in the anthology of décimas, Navegas, Isla de Oro, Editorial Gente Nueva, 2009.

In 2005, he transitioned to television with the humorous program Deja que yo te cuente, for which he was the creator and screenwriter. The program attracted a large audience not only for its comedic style but also for the characters that appeared in it. In addition to Flor de Anís and Urbinito, played by Gudín himself, the audience became interested in Professor Mentepollo (Carlos Gonzalvo), who critiqued everyday Cuban life with his ironic studies, Lindoro Incapaz (Rewel Remedios), who represented the mediocre and opportunistic director, and Inspector La Llave (Miguel Moreno), who was the go-between for the boss, among other characters that embodied endemic stereotypes of the Cuban landscape. Making this type of humor in official media has always been a great challenge, and Gudín passed the test by keeping the program on air for many years.

Between the years 2006-2008, he won awards related to Best Comedy Program on television and Best Actor.

In 20015, he reunited with his audience as well as professional colleagues in Miami. He participated in two programs on the América Tvé channel: El Espejo, with Juan Manuel Cao, and El Happy Hour with his performances of El Bacán and Flor de Anís. That same year, he presented his show El Bacán in Houston.

In addition, he has scripted the humorous segments of programs such as Fin de Semana and Para no salir de casa. In the last ten years, he has written and directed several shows in the country's main theaters, as well as maintaining a fruitful literary work as a poet, playwright, and storyteller.

He/she holds the Distinction for National Culture in 2007.

As a lover of décimas, it is common for them to use this composition to create humor on social media by publishing poems that make light of the scarcity or the coronavirus.
