In the early hours of this Tuesday, January 26, 2016, one of the emblematic figures of Cuban music and founder of the Cuban orchestra Los Van Van, Miguel Angel Rasalp, for many, simply El Lele, died at the age of 71. .
Miguel Ángel or El Lele was a member of the rock group Los Fantásticas, co-founder of the cuartero Los Primos, member of Elio Revé's orchestra and founder in 1969, together with Juan Formell, of the iconic dance group Los Van Van with which he remained until 1972. He was also a member of the group Los Reyes 7 and was one of the first to cultivate the fusion of rumba with rock and son or timba.
The news, published on social networks, reported the death of the father of the current vocalist of the orchestra, Adbel, also nicknamed El Lele, in the likeness and in recognition of his father.
With his death, Cuban music loses one of its best sons and the Van Vans lose one of their fathers.
