Preparation Time:
90
Ingredients:
750 g of beef 350 g of thinly sliced ham 250 g of streaky bacon 125 g of carrots ½ cup of oil 2 large onions 1 cup of tomato puree 1 cup of dry wine 1 clove of garlic Salt, sugar, and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Slice the meat, ham, and bacon into thin pieces, each smaller than the last, to make rolling easier. Briefly sauté the carrots, cut into rectangular pieces, with a bit of sugar, as these will be the filling (some recipes suggest adding a small piece of pineapple). Wrap everything together and tie it with string (it can also be secured with a toothpick). Heat some fat in a skillet over high heat and brown the rolls. Add chopped onions, garlic, pureed tomato, dry wine, pepper, and salt. Let it simmer until the meat tenderizes and the sauce thickens. It can be served alongside mashed potatoes and a mixed salad of raw vegetables, dressed with olive oil and lemon juice.
