The Cubans Julio Fajardo and Maite Ramírez, 27 and 24 years old, respectively, appeared this Saturday at the auditions for the British edition of the talent scout program Got Talent, causing a sensation among members of the public and the jury.

Britain's Got Talent is a program specialized in the search for unpublished talents - of all ages and in different branches of art - within the United Kingdom. The winner receives a cash prize of £100,000 (almost $130,000) and the chance to perform at the annual Royal Variety Performance before members of the Royal Family.

However, to do so they must submit to the scrutiny of the judges: the actor David Walliams, the singer Alesha Dixon, the businessman Simon Cowell - also known for his role in American Idol - and the performer Amanda Holden.

During the audition, the couple introduced themselves to the four members as the duo “Dust in the Wind” and indicated that they had been together – professionally and romantically – for almost 4 years.

When Simon asked them why they had decided to sign up for the British version of the contest, and not the American one, the duo said that "Britain's Got Talent" was the best show in the world.

The couple put on an incredible performance mixing dance with acrobatic acts and they used Kelly Clarkson's song, Never Enough, as musical accompaniment. The final result, a well-deserved ovation from everyone present, allowing them to continue in the race.

Maite Ramírez is originally from the province of Guantánamo and studied at the National Circus School of Cuba. Julio, on the other hand, is from Havana and graduated in Physical Culture and Sports, where he also worked as a judo teacher.

“Dust in the Wind” has toured various nations such as part of circus companies and participating in artistic events, such as the Festival International du Cirque De Bayeux, the group Circus Medrano, in France, the Zippos Cirque Berserk group, in the United Kingdom and CirCuba.
