Van Van musicians react to the death of Ángel Barrientos "El Teniente", the group's prop man

The Van Van Ángel Barrientos prop man, known as “El Teniente”, died this Monday and the group's musicians have paid tribute to him with emotional messages on their social networks.

The Cuban singerThe Lele, one of the main male voices of the famous orchestra, has shared on his Facebook wall his respects for the recent loss of Barrientos, who has worked for the group since 1982.

“Yesterday a Van Van prop man died and others have also died and my message is intended for all those guys who put their chests forward many hours before on stage. We must always thank. My respect goes to everyone. At this moment I think of Formell's trusted man Chey... Pedrito Penetré of the first... Barry, very nice. And today to my dear Lieutenant...”, said the musician in his post.

Lele is the son of Miguel Ángel Rasalps, who was the original Lele and was the founder of the Los Van Van orchestra.Michelangelo died on January 26, 2016 and he was one of the first to cultivate the fusion of rumba with rock and son.

The official Los Van Van page on Facebook also dedicated a final goodbye to the beloved prop man: “He has gone to heaven, leaving great pain in the hearts of all of us who knew him and shared with him. Thank you very much Lieutenant for so many years of dedication and dedication.”
