The fighterGustavo Trujillo, known as The Cuban Assassin, affirmed this Thursday that his career and all his forces are dedicated to every oppressed Cuban on the island.
"My fight, my career and all my strength was dedicated to every oppressed Cuban, lacking freedom, who has suffered the repression of the hostile and totalitarian Regime," he stated on his Facebook wall.
"We are all Cubans, no matter where we are, our Island is ours and belongs to us because our heart is there. Freedom for Cuba and Freedom for all political prisoners and prisoners of conscience!!", he expressed, before thanking the television channel for an interview. Martí Radio and Television news.
The journalist Ricardo Quintana made a review of the life of Trujillo, who is a native of Ciego de Ávila, and in his statements he affirms that his aspiration is to know a "free Cuba."
The bare-knuckle boxer is currently training under the tutelage of Eric "El Tigre" Castaños for his next fight, which will take place on Saturday, February 19 against Stephen "el Tomahawk" Townsel, at the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood, facing to the world title of the Bare Knuckle Fighting company.
Trujillo recently expressed that his fight would be dedicated to all political prisoners in the prisons of the Cuban dictatorship and has openly expressed his rejection of repression in Cuba, despite thedisagreements that his position has brought him with members of his family.
In December 2020, the boxer came out to the ring with the phrase "Díaz-Canel singaoooo!!!" on his shirt, before starting a fight during Bare Knuckle Fighting in Fort Lauderdale.
