Roxana García Lorenzo, sister of the young political prisoner and July 11 protesterAndy Garcia, warned that there are many Cubans who are tired of repression and rights violations and that the situation on the island is "a time bomb."

"There are many of us who are tired of holding on, so don't complain when you have to mobilize an entire army to stop us, okay?" warned the young woman, who since her brother's arrest has dedicated herself to reporting not only his case. but those of other political prisoners in Cuba.

Roxana referred to Andy's health condition, who had to be admitted after experiencing constant diarrhea and vomiting in the work camp where he is being held. He also denounced that the prison authorities have shown indifference to his state of health.

The activism of Roxana, her boyfriend Jonatan and other family members has made them the target of constant repression, interrogations, internet shutdowns, threats andacts of vandalism and repudiation.

"We have been enduring mistreatment, repression, abuse and threats from State Security for more than a year, we are already tired. My brother is sick, his health condition is not enough to be in a forced labor camp without living conditions "His diet is not what his body needs," he said.your Facebook post.

After six days without hearing from her brother, Roxana finally managed to talk to him: "At lunch time he was eating and he got stuck, I don't know exactly what happened to him, but he became ill. Andy is back at camp, and his sister explained that he has barely eaten for days because the diet he needs to follow to improve cannot be done in that place. They also do not allow the family to bring him food.

"Do not think that we are going to sit idly by, my brother has a family behind him that is responsible for him. What happens to my brother will have a political cost for you. And we are not going to remain silent," Roxana warned.

Andy García Lorenzo is serving a four-year prison sentence for his participation in the protests of July 11, 2021, which was modified to an open regime on May 31. At the end of July,He was transferred to the Yabú work camp from the El Soler camp.
