With this financing, the regime intends to help people whoseHomes are totally or partially affected in the provinces of Camagüey, Las Tunas, Holguín, Granma and Santiago de Cuba.
With these "facilities", the government provides that "affected people whose income is not sufficient to purchase construction materials, can access bank loans, request subsidies from the State Budget, or require financing from Social Assistance," as read in agreement 9595/2023, published in the Official Gazette number 45 -extraordinary.
Given the lack of construction materials and the high prices at which they are sold in stores in freely convertible currency (MLC), families will have to request credits and subsidies to try to begin repairing the damage. According to the document, the "aid" will leave the victims in debt and will have to use their scarce resources to obtain cement, roofs and other products, in the midst of unstoppable inflation.
