Truck catches fire and explodes on Miami highway

A truck traveling on a Miami highway early Tuesday caught fire and exploded.

A video taken by a witness who was in another vehicle on the opposite path was shared on the Instagram account of the user Only in Dade.

"No, it's not a movie. Early this morning a truck caught fire and exploded in the westbound lane of 836. We are still in the process of gathering more information," the post notes.

The recording allows us to see the cargo truck, parked on the side of the road, with the entire cabin enveloped in enormous flames from which thick black smoke comes out.

Although the video does not reach 15 seconds, in that short time a strong explosion occurred that fueled the fire even more.

At the time of writing this information, the causes of the incident and whether the driver managed to get to safety in time are not known.
