Last week, Lechuga had announced the screening and had been responsible for emphasizing thatThe premiere would not be in Cuban cinemas.
“On Thursday, November 2, Vicenta B premieres in Cuba in Norwegian territory. Close to my home and heart. Creative team, family, friends, Cubans, we are all waiting for you there. Thanks to the team at the Norwegian Embassy in Cuba for this gift. “H and 21 is my childhood,” the artist wrote on his official account on X (Twitter).
In 2022 the film wascensored by the Cuban government at the Havana Film Festival, something that its director Carlos Lechuga publicly exposed.
Althoughthe ICAIC denied censorship, the truth is that many Cuban artists, inside and outside the islandthey strongly criticized the denials that there were at the time around the screening of the film due to the message it conveys and the conflicts in today's Cuba that it touches on.
At an international level, however, it has been recognized. During the 32nd edition of the Ceará Film Festival in BrazilVicenta B won two awards, one for Best Actress and another for Best Director.
