A concert attendee Taylor Swift in Brazil on Friday died due to high temperatures at the Nilton Santos Olympic Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.

The young woman was identified as Ana Benevides, a 23-year-old Psychology student, who fainted due to heat stroke. Faced with the emergency, the singer's team began to distribute free water.

At one point during the presentation, Taylor threw several bottles of water at the fans from the stage, and on another occasion asked the production to bring water to some people who were asking for it, while shouts of "water!" were heard. from the people.

Despite this, more than a thousand attendees fainted due to dehydration during the three and a half hour show.

After hearing the news of Ana Benevides' death, the artist issued a statement in which she confessed to feeling devastated by the pain and sent her solidarity to all those affected.

"I can't believe I'm writing these words, but with a broken heart I say that we lost a fan tonight before my show. I can't express how devastated I am. I have very little information other than the fact that she was incredibly beautiful and too young," he wrote on Twitter.

"I won't be able to talk about this from the stage because I feel overwhelmed with grief even when I try to talk about it. I want to say now that I am deeply sorry for this loss and my broken heart goes out to his family and friends. This is the last thing I will say. I thought it would happen when we decided to bring the show to Brazil," he added.

This was the first of three concerts scheduled in Rio de Janeiro for the weekend, as part of his Eras Tour, and more than 60,000 people attended.

The second was supposed to be this Saturday, but was postponed to Monday due to the high temperatures.

Wadih Damous, head of Brazil's consumer protection agency, said the government was going to investigate the company Time For Fun.

"The decision to prevent thousands of people from drinking water in 60 degree Celsius heat is crazy and irresponsible," he declared.
