A man died this Friday morning after being run over by a bus in Vedado, in the Havana municipality of Plaza de la Revolución.
The tragic incident It happened on the corner of 15th and J, According to Reinaldo Alvarado de la Paz, a witness who reported the accident in the Facebook group Buses & Camiones, where he explained that the victim had a “Open head trauma in the occipital region.”
“As a paramedic that I am, although not currently practicing, when measuring vital signs I could not detect either a carotid or radial pulse and I was cyanotic, since I was not breathing,” he explained.
The paramedic explained that the victim also had bleeding from the ears (otorrhagia) and that it was not possible to apply Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Despite the circumstances described, the man who was run over was taken in a vehicle to Calixto García, where his death was certified.
“My condolences to family and friends. Drivers, you have to walk with all four eyes, even if we come well and slowly, there will always be someone who doesn't," he concluded.
In the comments section, the aforementioned source indicated that the victim was riding an electric bicycle.

Another commentator pointed out that in that corner the vehicles "never measure their speed" and that "horrors are seen both from those that go up through J and those that fly through 15."
At the closing of this note there are no other confirmed details about the tragic event, which adds to the growing list of road accidents that have characterized this year.
Between January and October Cuba registered 6,965 traffic accidents between January and October 2023, which represents an increase of 12.8% in relation to the accidents that occurred in the same period of the previous year, according to official figures.
The almost 7 thousand accidents that occurred in the first ten months of this year left 562 dead and 5,643 injured.
