The death this Thursday of a little Cuban baseball player who was barely 11 years old Camajuani, Villa Clara, has generated immense consternation and sadness in recent hours in that territory.

Although the official cause of the minor's death has not been revealed, several publications and comments on social networks point to complications derived from a fingernail.

“It really was a nail that got complicated, giving him staphylococcus”, wrote Internet user Landy La Potencia in the comments section of the Facebook profile Por la Goma, which echoed the tragic news.

“Our Por La Goma page adds to this news of pain, due to the unfortunate death of a little player from Camajuaní, in the 11-12 year old category. Let your family and friends have our deepest condolences from our work team. "What an EPD CHAMPION!" wrote JuanK, the administrator of that popular baseball page.

“I ask on behalf of my page and all the Villa Clara fans that today there be a minute of silence before starting the game and then a resounding applause from the fans and the participating teams,” he added.

The battle for Enmanuel's life was long, since a publication on March 19 in the Los Leopardos Azucareros de Villa Clara Facebook group was interested in the minor's clinical evolution.

"Emmanuel got a toenail on his foot, and from there he caught staphylococcus and is currently admitted to Santa Clara receiving antibiotics", wrote Daimany García on that occasion, who stated that the minor was stable but reported to be critical.

Unfortunately, little Emmanuel could not overcome his condition.

This Thursday, hundreds of comments in the different forums where the news has been spread attest to the enormous sadness over the death of the child athlete, who was barely opening up to life.

A video tribute from the Villa Clara Sugar Leopards was especially felt.

"With a minute of silence in honor of our athlete who is a member of Team Gafas de Camajuaní, the meeting of municipal sports directors begins"Milagros Fuste, sports director of Villa Clara, wrote on Facebook.
