Reynol Alfonso, one of the oldest referees in Cuban baseball, has been expelled from his job with the argument that he is “counterrevolutionary”, an issue that made him make several complaints on social networks “already tired of the abuses” of the national baseball management .
In an extensive post on Facebook, the man from Matanzas not only spoke of his bosses' decision to cease his duties at work, but also launched reproaches against senior Cuban leaders of balls and strikes.
Alfonso assured that a week ago he was working at the “little league” tournament in Matanzas, when the president of the National Baseball FederationJuan Reinaldo Pérez Pardo, expressed his dissatisfaction with the presence of the referee on the field of play.
The reaction of the national commissioner of that sport in Cuba, Pérez Pardo, was due to a previous sanction carried by the experienced dispenser of justice.
However, Alfonso believes that the commissioner has not forgotten that sanction and "does not leave him alone."
He said that he was working on Saturdays at the “Costa Verde” hotel, in thesoftball, but that they decided to do without him because of a publication of his in which he talked about the National Series and “it seems that they have you as a counterrevolutionary,” he indicated that a close friend told him.
In his publication, the referee made catharsis about this qualification that was given to him, with which he said he felt uncomfortable and dissatisfied. “How come they give me that nickname when others should have it,” he alleged.
He took the opportunity to list a series of issues that have been linked to him and his work within Cuban baseball.
Reynol Alfonso has been critical of the decisions made in Cuban baseball, an issue that has not been liked by the directors of this sport on the island.
In September 2023He decided to retire convinced that "I am not a slave to anyone to work and not be stimulated".
This was announced by the man from Matanzas through a Facebook post where he made catharsis against the Cuban baseball board. "Enough of sunbathing for pleasure," he wrote, "while others who do not receive a ray of sun do and undo whatever they want."
What do you think?
