A worker is expelled from the port of Santiago de Cuba for criticism on social networks

An official told the worker that his dismissal was for safety reasons. "You know what you have uploaded to the networks," he told him, and threatened to report him if he did not leave "freely."

A worker at the Guillermón Moncada cargo port in Santiago de Cuba was expelled for criticism he made on social networks.

Cesar Jaime Cedeno, 30, lost his job after making a comment on Facebook about the poor food they sell to port workers and the lack of protection measures, which caused thedeath of three dockers last month.

"That snack has now become a custom and nothing happens about it. They only vary it when a visitor comes. And with respect to the three deceased, after what happened there has been talk of always having a permanent ambulance as it should be and They still haven't put it in, accidents in the port happen often," wrote Cesar Jaime.

The independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada denounced on his Facebook profile the sanction imposed on Cedeño, who had been working at the port for a year and a half.

Mayeta shared an audio that was sent to her, in which a leader is heard telling the young man that because of his comment "he is not suitable to work on a border."

In the recording, the woman says at first that she does not know the reason for the expulsion, but later makes it clear that it is because of her criticism of the State.

"The State is the owner of the company,If someone starts speaking badly about the State, the owner does not want that person in the company.. Although I do not agree with the fact that there is no rice, sugar, bread, as a civil servant and as a company worker, I cannot go out and say that the State has I don't know what...", she admitted.

Later, a man intervenes who states that thedismissal of the worker is due to safety issues.

"You know what you have uploaded to the networks, I don't have to tell you", he told him, before threatening to report him if he did not leave "freely."

In response, Cedeño alleged that he only commented on someone else's publication, and the official stated: "That was enough."

Journalist Yosmany Mayeta asked his followers and friends that anyone who has a job offer for the expelled young man contact him privately.

He also revealed that, according to what his source of information at the port told him, another worker named Fredy Martines was also thrown out onto the street for having given a critical opinion.

Last February 21st at night, three port workers died allegedly asphyxiated by toxic gas when they were preparing to unload a rice ship in Puerto Guillermón Moncada.

José Antonio Olivarez Díaz, general director of the Eastern Port Services Company, reported that the workers "were exposed to breathing a toxic gas when entering a sealed and fumigated warehouse, not intended for unloading in this city."

"Despite the quick action of their colleagues and rescue teams, the three stevedores arrived dead at the Dr. Joaquín Castillo Duany Military Hospital, located near the port of Santiago," the information stated.

The deceased were identified as Raiko Calzado Kindelan, 29, Yosbani Paaterson Duany, 28, and Roibel Bejerano Hernandez, whose age was not disclosed.
