Great shock and sadness has been caused by the discovery this Sunday of the doctor's lifeless bodyJorge Luis Bringuez Torres, presumably murdered inside his own home in the city of Santiago de Cuba.
The doctor, who worked at the Carlos J. Finlay Polyclinic, was found dead “presumably with stab wounds,”reported journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada, on their social networks.
According to the preliminary report, Bringuez lived on Trocha Street, in the Los Congrejitos neighborhood. In avideo In the publication, several police officers are seen at the scene of thetragic event.
Although the reporter did not specify it, in the comments to his publication several relatives, friends and acquaintances of the victim confirmed that he was a doctor.
A neighbor told the journalist that “he liked to play chess and on Friday morning he was alive, and after that they didn't see him again.”
The note states that “the neighbors contacted the deceased's father because, since Friday, 'he had not opened the doors of his house.'”
In the comments to the post, dozens of users expressed their outrage at this new crime, which adds to thewave of recent murders in the eastern city that keeps its population in suspense.
A cousin of the doctor, identified on Facebook as Anisleidis Morales Bringuez, expressed her dismay: “What a disgrace, cousin, I hope the culprit pays dearly for your death because our family is destroyed and desperate. “A great doctor and an excellent EPD person have been lost.”
“Excellent professional, great doctor and good human being. My condolences to his family. Your colleagues will feel your absence,” said one of her colleagues, summarizing the feelings of dozens who agreed to describe Bringuez as a magnificent person.
Another young woman expressed her concern about the increase in crimes in that province and in the country: “This is out of control, murders have become a fashion or a form of entertainment. God, have mercy on us and justice but truth.”
Not a few questioned the recent statements ofregime officials who deny an increase in crime in Cuba, and they assure that it is social networks that give greater visibility to the facts.
Beatriz de la Peña La O, head of the Investigation Department of the Directorate of Criminal Procedures, assured this week in a television program that thecriminal violence, which includes the crimes of murder, manslaughter, injuries, robbery with violence and sexual assault, has not increased in the country.
