Shakira has paid tribute to the singer Selena Quintanilla, whose murder marked 29 years in March.
The Colombian recorded the song In brackets together with Grupo Frontera, and for the video clip she chose to dress in a costume similar to that worn by the Texan artist and even replicated her dance steps.
"My small tribute with all my love to Selena, one of the most beautiful and greatest artists of all time," Shakira wrote on her Instagram account, along with a fragment of the video.
In the recording, Shakira appears on stage wearing a short tank top and black pants, all very tight and shiny, as well as a matching hat and boots, an outfit similar to Selena's particular style. The Barranquilla native also recreated some of her movements, such as the well-known "vueltita."
In brackets It belongs to Shakira's most recent album, Women Don't Cry Anymore.
The video, released on March 25, has accumulated more than 12 million views and has made fans of both artists happy.
It is not the first time that Shakira shows her admiration for the late American performer.
In 2005, she was invited to the Mexican program Another roll, hosted by the popular presenter Adal Ramones, who proposed a game: sing famous songs that had a certain word, in that case "love."
It was then that the Colombian performed a fragment of Forbidden love, by Selena, a performance that moved the audience present in the studio, as seen in the recording that is available on the Internet and that CyberCuba Share in this note.
