Yotuel Romero sent a message to the artists of the world in the wake of the protests that shook several Cuban cities on the afternoon and evening of March 17.
On his social networks the Cuban singer wrote: “Dear artists of the world, Cuba needs our voice. In each verse, in each chord, in each work, we can be the hope and strength of 11 million souls that long to be free. Let us echo their desire and together let us change history.”
The rapper recalled that internationally famous artists such as Ricky Martin, Bad Bunny and Residente joined his people when Puerto Rico needed them.
“For Cuban artists who believe that art and politics should not mix, you are reminded that art has the power to transform the world”, he assured.
Along with his text, he shared a video that he directed to the Cuban soldiers who have not yet joined the repression against the people during the protests.
“Cuban soldiers who still do not have blood on your hand, this message is for you because you do not fit on their plane, because you are not in their plans, because you are not part of their family. You are in time to take the side of the Cuban people because the anger of a people thirsty for freedom, thirsty for life, thirsty for illusion is going to stop with you,” was Yotuel's message.
