Haydée Milanés He sent a message through his social networks in which he showed his unconditional support to the people who took to the streets of Santiago, Bayamo and Cárdenas to protest on March 17.
“I want to express my deepest support to the people of Cuba, to all those women and men who came out yesterday and today to protest in the streets of Cuba. demanding freedom and also denouncing the many shortcomings and needs that they have had for a long time,” the singer began by saying in a video she shared on her Facebook and Instagram.
“I also want to address the Cuban authorities, the military. To the police. And to many civilians so that they please do not attack, do not use violence against these people, against these protesters who are making use of their legitimate right to protest, to express what they feel and to express their disagreement with the entire situation they are experiencing,” Haydée added.
The artist assured that “the Cuban is asking for a change. The Cuban has the right to express himself peacefully and to protest and demonstrate. “Military, police, take the side of the people.”
Haydée's words join those of dozens of artists who, after the protests, flooded the networks with messages of support to the Cuban people and demanding the end of the dictatorship.
