Last April 7 marked 16 years since the tragic death of the young Cuban singer Elvis Manuel Martínez Nodarse, who lost his life at sea at just 19 years of age during a boat trip to the United States.
Cuban deejay and producer Alejandro Rodríguez, popularly known asJerry, was one of those who took to social networks to remember what was one of the great promises of the urban genre on the island.
Jerry worked side by side in Cuba with Elvis Manuel and was behind the vast majority of the hits that the young man released during his short musical career.
In a post shared with other friends who wanted to honor the missing young man, you can read the following message full of affection and memories that review the artistic life of Elvis Manuel. The publication is also accompanied by several images of the reggaeton singer in which you can see Elvis Manuel with his mother, as well asJerry andAlexander Delgado, director ofLocal People.
"On a day like today, April 7, 2024, marks the 16th anniversary of the tragic and mysterious death of the greatest exponent and one of the founding and promising figures of reggaeton in Cuba, Elvis Manuel Martínez Nodarse. "At the time of his death, the reggaeton artist was working on a new single titled "Esa mujer", with which he planned to conquer the hearts of the Latin community in the United States. The singer jumped into the sea at the peak of his career, in company of his mother and 18 other people on a boat from Pinar del Río. The boat capsized in the strong waves due to the excess weight and for two days the passengers clung to the hull of the boat. A freighter sighted the 14 survivors and. He picked them up to hand them over to the US Coast Guard, but The King was not among them. "His body was never found.", they add.

Unfortunately, Elvis Manuel's talent and voice faded forever on the night of April 7, 2008. The reggaeton player, who, as his friends say, was at the peak of his career, left Cuba on a boat bound for the United States. United together with a group of people, including his mother, who turned out to be one of the survivors. Unfortunately, a fateful accident caused Elvis Manuel to lose his life in the waters of the Florida Strait.
