Two brothers residing in the United States who arrived in Cuba for a visit on April 4 are stranded on the island and are asking for help after being victims of the theft of a wallet that had their money and documentation, according to what they reported in avideo published by journalistUnivision Javier Diaz.
The young man, identified as Manuel Alejandro Pardo, explained that he and his sister Rachel arrived in Cuba last Thursday and that the first two days they were in the province of Mayabeque, at his girlfriend's house.
From there they rented a machine on the 6th, that is, Saturday, that took them to the city of Cárdenas, in Matanzas, where they are both from.
"During the trip, my sister asks me if I brought her residence, to which I answer yes and show it to her. That is, we are certain that the documents were with us along the way. We did not make any stops.", accurate.
He says that when they arrived at their destination, they took the packages down to the house and it was after half an hour that they realized that the wallet where the money came from was missing, as well as his sister's residence, and the two passports of each one: the Spanish one. and the Cuban.
Manuel Alejandro indicated that they have already gone to get new Cuban passports but it takes a month each because supposedly "there is no raw material."
"We need help, to contact the [United States] embassy, which is what worries us the most to be able to obtain my sister's residency. We also add that we are very concerned because we have been residing in the United States for more than two years. We have a life made up, we have work that I don't know how long they can wait for us, we have payments to make, we have manybiles"he explained.
The young man asked for help from someone who could guide them on how to contact the embassy and know what they need to be able to leave Cuba.
"Supposedly we have to wait a long time in Cuba and we are lost", he concluded.
