A young man of Puerto Rican origin, 23 years old and identified as Orly Yeriel Cintrón Nieves, was arrested for fatally shooting another man with a rifle after an argument in the parking lot of a bar in northwest Miami-Dade County.
According to witnesses,The two involved had argued after one collided with the other. It was then that the deceased hit the now accused several times and he pulled out a rifle and shot him.
“I only felt three, but they say there were a lot of shots,” he said in statements toAmerica Camel Mercedes Hernández, a woman of Cuban origin residing in the area.
It was around 8:00 a.m. Sunday that a burst of gunshots alerted residents in the area of 36th Street and 32nd Avenue in Northwest County.
During the course of the investigation It turned out that both involved had been in a bar in the area during the night.
“That is a wolf's den, realize that it only has one exit door, there they kill themselves like dogs, there is no exit,” Hernández explained.
Upon arriving at the scene, Miami-Dade police officers found the badly injured victim behind a bush while the attacker had fled the scene in a Toyota Camry car.
The car was located in a home in the southwest of the county where Cintrón Nieves barricaded himself. However, minutes later they managed to arrest him.
Although the victim was transported still alive to Jackson Memorial Hospital, he was in critical condition and did not survive.
“People don't sleep at night… I knew I had to stop that.”said Mercedes Hernández, who implied that the bar where the incident occurred is problematic.
This Monday Orly Yeriel Cintrón appeared in courtcharged with second-degree murder with a firearm, aggravated assault on an officer and resisting authority with violence, for which he was denied the right to bail.
The police record indicates that the accused was out on bail for another serious crime committed.
Until the closing of this note, the identity of the deceased man has not been revealed.
