Young people caught throwing garbage into the sea in South Florida

A group of young people aboard a boat in South Florida were caught throwing garbage into the water.

The incident occurred last Sunday in front of Boca Raton, a city located in Palm Beach County.

A video recorded by a witness and posted on the Wavy Boats Instagram account shows two people on the deck of the yacht each taking a bucket full of garbage and throwing its contents into the ocean.

According to the publication, the incident occurred when the boaters were leaving a sailing group called Boca Bash.

"It turns out that they went out and threw two buckets full of garbage into the ocean. Is it enough that they fine you? What do you think about the consequences of an incident like this? Let us know," asks the author of the video.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission issued a statement Monday announcing that it is actively investigating the incident.
