One deceased in an accident involving a harrow in Havana

An accident on the Vía Monumental in Havana that involved a harrow left one person dead at the scene, witnesses to the event said.

A woman who witnessed the incident said that the accident happened on the Via Monumental, at the height of the so-called First Ring, between the Cotorro bridge and the National Highway bridge.

The incident left at least one person dead in the middle of the road, according to a publication in the group Facebook BUS & TRUCK ACCIDENTS, for more experience and fewer victims.

"A harrow with a container and a deceased person lying on the road. How sad. I didn't want to take photos because it was very strong. Please, let's be careful on the road, there is family waiting for us at home. My condolences to family and friends. EPD", expressed the author of the post.

Accidents in Cuba cause hundreds of deaths every year. In 2023 more than 700 people lost their lives on the roads.

Colonel Roberto Rodríguez, head of the Specialized Traffic Body of the General Directorate of the National Revolutionary Police, reported that year that the death toll increased compared to 2022 when 729 were recorded.
