Cuban internet users recognized on social media a driver of the P13 route who diverted the bus to help a child who was having a seizure inside the vehicle.
The Facebook user "Yasnel White Díaz" shared in a post on Facebook that the bus driver helped "a child of about 10 years old who was having a strong seizure, diverting the bus from its route at full speed while crowded with people."
He took the child to the polyclinic and then continued on his route. Congratulations, even though we don't know him, congratulations. Hopefully he will be recognized by his company," he emphasized.
The publication does not detail the day when the incident occurred, but dozens of people expressed their respects and admiration towards the driver of the P13, which covers the route from Fraternity Park to La Palma to Santiago de Las Vegas.
"That is called being human and putting humanism into practice. Congratulations to that driver," "We still have good people around, congratulations to that driver, may life reward him with great health," were some of the comments posted on the social network.
Last February, Cubans also applauded the driver of a religious or private institution on the island, identified by the letter W on the license plate of the vehicle, who transported an elderly person in Havana and at the end of the trip decided not to charge for the fare, due to the scarcity of transportation in the country.
In March, another public transport driver in Havana deviated the bus to assist a young pregnant woman about to give birth. The Minister of Transportation of Cuba publicly acknowledged the action and revealed the name of the driver, a rare occurrence among Cuban leaders.
Ernesto Hernández is another face in the transportation sector that we would like to unveil; very much against his will, because even though these days he is the most well-known driver in Havana, his humility makes these recognitions uncomfortable for him," stated a publication by the Transport Minister, Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila.
